*Please note: Irises are not shipped in the Spring because during eight weeks after bloom is complete, irises begin storing food for next spring's growth, increase buds for new rhizomes, and form buds for bloom stalks. When irises have matured, they are ready to begin the second cycle of root growth, encouraged by both moisture and a feeding of bone meal mixed in the planting soil. The earliest that irises usually ship are August, no exceptions. Read about it in our blog. However, it is possible to ship to some zones as late as October-November. All irises need to be planted at least six weeks before your first frost date.
