Stout Silver Medal - The highest award a cultivar can receive. It is given in memory of Dr. Arlow Burdette Stout who is considered to be the father of modern day lily breeding in North America. This annual award can be awarded by AHS Garden judges only to a cultivar that has first received the Award of Merit not less than three years previously.
Lenington All-American Award - Given annually since 1970 to the day lily voted the bst performer over a wide geographic area.
Donn Fischer Memorial Cup - Awarded each year to the hybridizer of the most outstanding miniature day lily cultivar. The cup was domanted by Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Fischer. To qualify as a miniature day lily cultivar, the flower must be less than 3 inches in diameter and be registered as a miniature. To be eligible, a miniature must have won the Honorable Mention Award.
Annie T. Giles Award - Awarded each year to the bst small-flowered day lily cultivar. To qualify as a small-flowered day lily cultivar, its greatest width must have been registered as 3 inches or more, but less than 4-1/2 inches in diameter. To be eligible, a small-flowered day lily cultivar must have been registered as such and must have won the Honorable Mention Award.
Ida Munson Award - Awarded each year to the best double-flowered day lily cultivar which blooms consistently double. The bronze medal was established in 1975 by Robert W. Munson, Jr., to honor his mother Ida Munson. To be eligible, a double-flowered day lily cultivar must have been registered as such and must have won the Honorable Mention Award. Flower size is not a factor.
L. Ernest Plouf Award - Awarded annually to the best consistently very fragrant day lily cultivar of the dormant variety capable of growing in most soils. The winner must have received an Honorable Mention Award and any cultivar may win only once. A prize of $500 is given the hybridizer.
Don C. Stevens Award - Given annually for the best registered and introduced boldly-eyed or banded day lily cultivar. The award was donated by AHS Region 4, the New England Area, in 1985. To be eligible, the cultivar must have received the Honorable Mention Award. The winning hybridizer receives a bronze medal, a certificate, and a $200 prize.
Harris Olson Spider Award - Presented annually to the best spider day lily cultivar. To be eligible, a spider must have been registered and introduced for a minimum of two calendar years. The hybridizer receives a bronze medal.
Eugene Foster Award - Presented annually to the best late-blooming day lily cultivar.
AHS Honorable Mention Award - The first official "stamp of approval" by the Society where good performance goes beyond the local or regional level. Therefore, to win, a cultivar must receive and be credited with a minimum of 15 votes. These votes must come from not less than four different established regions of the Society. In voting for this award, the judges must cast their votes only for cultivars observed in their own respective regions and which have been registered and introduced for at least two years.
